A Popular Spot for Hand-Made Udon and Soba

Ajiman is a specialty shop for udon and soba that boasts a charming, down-to-earth atmosphere reminiscent of Kamakura. Known for its rich, flavorful dashi and hand-made udon, the restaurant is particularly praised for its delightful texture and smooth finish. Locals also recommend the 'kayaku gohan' (mixed rice). Guests can enjoy a pleasant time in the softly lit interior.

As I sit down in the tatami room, a calm atmosphere reminiscent of old times spreads around me, bringing a sense of relief. The handmade udon is slightly thin yet has a strong chewiness, and the smooth texture is pleasant to the throat. The sharp broth is complemented by the sweetness of the tanuki, making for a refreshing aftertaste. The lunch set also comes with a sushi roll, which pairs excellently with the udon. With a rich lineup including Japanese-style katsu and miso-nabe udon, it's easy to see why regulars gather here. The down-to-earth and cozy atmosphere makes it easy to linger longer.
