When I sat at the table, the first thing that came out was a thin green onion pancake that was fragrant, and it lifted my spirits right from the start. While nibbling on the crunchy jellyfish and absentmindedly watching TV, a succession of colorful dishes was brought to the table. The basil-flavored eggplant and the salt-fried shrimp, squid, and broccoli had a wonderful texture that made it hard to put down my chopsticks. The braised cheek meat melted in my mouth, and when eaten with the mashed potatoes, the flavors combined beautifully, creating a very happy taste. The star of the meal, the mapo tofu, had a perfect balance of spiciness and numbing sensation, with a complex aroma that filled my mouth, making me want to sip on some Shaoxing wine. Each dish was surprising, and I felt it was a cozy place where I could enjoy the food without pretension.
