A yakitori restaurant 'Kushiya' with a nostalgic atmosphere

Located in Sendai City, Kushiya is a cozy yakitori restaurant with a traditional smoky ambiance. The counter-only seating creates a warm atmosphere where you can enjoy friendly interactions with regular customers. A diverse selection of chicken and pork skewers is available, and the skewers, grilled with house-made sauce and salt, are tender and juicy. The charming space reminiscent of a Showa-era tavern allows everyone to relax and enjoy their time.

Lured by the aroma of charcoal, I entered a small shop with only a counter, where I felt at ease. The couple runs the place, and the coordination between the grilling area and the kitchen is brisk and pleasant. There are many varieties of yakitori and grilled pork, with a rich sauce and a gentle taste of salt. The liver is cut and skewered after ordering, so there is no unpleasant smell, and the tsukune and shiro can be enjoyed without getting tired of them. The interior has a traditional atmosphere with smoke rising, and the posters on the walls and the charcoal being fanned with a hand fan create a fun vibe. There are many regulars, and conversations flow easily, making it comfortable enough for newcomers to naturally join in.
