Upon entering the shop where wind chimes ring, you are greeted by bright light and the greenery of the courtyard. The matcha shaved ice melts softly, spreading a gentle sweetness and the aroma of tea at the same time. As you continue to eat, the rich matcha and red beans appear, making the change in flavors enjoyable. The warm green tea served after the cold dessert is mellow and allows you to take a relaxing breath. The fresh sweets also have a refined sweetness that pairs perfectly with the umami of the matcha. You can spend a leisurely time in the cozy Japanese-style room or on the engawa (veranda), making it easy to linger longer than intended.
