The text on the label is derived from the writings of the Edo period poet, Kan Sazan. The phrase on the sake label's conclusion, 'I should write to the gentleman,' was taken from there. Characterized by a sharp taste with a hint of acidity, this is the driest junmai sake from Otoko Yama. The name is derived from the ukiyo-e by Utagawa Kuniyoshi depicting the Akō rōnin drinking Otoko Yama sake, titled 'Seichū Gishin Meimei Kan'.
