A renowned soba restaurant with perfectly chilled noodles

Aya is a hidden gem located near Takayu Onsen, where you can enjoy exquisite soba. The noodles, chilled thoroughly in ice water as you can hear from the kitchen, are thin and beautifully presented, offering a delightful texture. You can savor the flavorful soba with a slightly spicy dipping sauce.

The interior is bright and clean, and you can sit comfortably in the chair seats. The chilled, thinly cut 100% buckwheat soba has a pleasant aroma, a firm texture, and goes down smoothly. The dipping sauce is mildly sweet with a sharpness, and the flavor of the broth spreads gently. The soba water after the meal is light and easy to drink, and the pickled radish adds a nice accent. The rice balls and omelet also have a gentle taste that is comforting. The hojicha is available freely in a pot, and the staff are warm and welcoming.
