A culinary oasis steeped in history in Kakunodate

Hyakuhoyen is a culinary oasis quietly nestled in the historic town of Kakunodate. In a charming space that has been renovated from an old traditional house, you can enjoy luxurious dishes made with seasonal ingredients. Particularly noteworthy is the Inaniwa udon, characterized by its clear broth, which captivates visitors with its deep richness. Additionally, the interior, surrounded by works of art made from Persian carpets, offers a visual delight.

It was a charming building, and I felt excited the moment I walked in. The dashi for the Inaniwa udon was clear and had a rich flavor, and I enjoyed it until the very end. The oyakodon and the jidori don were also fragrant, and the balance of ingredients was good. Each small dish was carefully prepared, and I couldn't stop using my chopsticks. The interior had artworks and wall hangings made of carpets, and it was enjoyable to look at them while listening to explanations. I felt that it was a wonderful place where I could enjoy both the atmosphere and the food when I stopped by during my sightseeing.
