The shopkeeper greeted me through a small window, and from the moment I entered, the atmosphere was warm. Inside the shop, there are counters, tables, and tatami seating, and the young green Mount Fuji on the wall is very impressive. The omakase sushi is prepared individually, and even without the soy sauce on the table, the flavors are perfectly balanced. The sweetness of the squid, the kelp-marinated flounder, the seared flounder fin, and even the grilled conger eel were all satisfying. The creamy chawanmushi, the local specialty of Atami, a bowl of sea bream marinated in sesame soy sauce, and the cold dashi enjoyed with dashi chazuke are also great accents. You can take home chirashi and rolls, and snacks like miso-marinated cheese are delicious, making it enjoyable from start to finish.
