A traditional sake brewery at Japan's westernmost point

Fukuda Sake Brewery is a historic sake brewery located at the southernmost tip of Hirado City in Nagasaki Prefecture, known as the westernmost sake producer in Japan. Founded in 1688, this brewery has continued its legacy since the Edo period, focusing on local ingredients, resulting in a fruity and slightly sweet flavor profile. The flagship brand "Fukuzuru" and the award-winning Daiginjo sake "Nagasaki Bijin" are widely loved. It is a special brewery where you can enjoy a rich taste that embodies both tradition and innovation within its charming premises.

This is a sake brewery located near the port of Hirado. Upon entering, the staff warmly welcomes you with smiles and makes the tasting experience enjoyable. Many of the sake have a slight sweetness and a fruity aroma, with a light and pleasant aftertaste. In addition to sake, there are also shochu made from potatoes and barley, each with its own unique character and deliciousness. The brewery tour is conducted with care, and the explanations of the process while viewing the tanks were easy to understand. There are brands that have been recognized in national competitions, and I felt that each cup pairs well with food.
