A traditional yakitori specialty shop in Muroran

Toriyoshi is the first yakitori specialty shop to open in Muroran, embodying a rich history and tradition. The calm counter seating and the use of locally sourced hard charcoal create a fragrant yakitori that is true to its origins. The mildly sweet sauce perfectly complements the dish, leaving a refreshing aftertaste. The red lanterns evoke a sense of nostalgia, allowing you to enjoy an atmosphere reminiscent of the old street vendor days.

This is a long-established restaurant said to be the origin of Muroran yakitori, and you can feel the passage of time from its exterior. Inside, there is only a counter, and the layout surrounding the charcoal grill creates a calming atmosphere. They offer pork cuts, hearts, liver, skin, and more, all carefully grilled to a fragrant finish. The rich, continuously added sauce has a good balance of sweet and spicy, complementing the fat well. The salt skewers are well-seasoned with spices, providing a pleasant roasted flavor. Enjoying it with warmed sake or chilled bottled beer enhances the satisfaction even more.
