Fluffy Sasanishiki Rice Shines at This Local Onigiri Shop

Located next to a flower shop, this warm and inviting onigiri specialty store feels like a hometown favorite. They pride themselves on using Ishinomaki-grown Sasanishiki rice, cooked to perfection and carefully shaped into onigiri by hand. The combination of homemade fillings and handmade miso soup offers a simple yet profound flavor. While takeout is the main focus, there are also counter seats available for dining in, allowing guests to leisurely enjoy the warmth of freshly made onigiri.

This shop, located in a corner of the shopping street, is convenient for enjoying freshly made rice balls casually. The rice balls, which are shaped after ordering, have a fluffy and gentle texture, and the sweetness of the rice is distinctly felt. The fillings are varied, including salt and salmon, as well as tuna mayo and minced meat, making it fun to choose. The style of wrapping the separately provided seaweed yourself allows you to enjoy the fragrant crispiness until the end. The miso soup, omelet, and small side dishes have a homemade warmth and pair excellently with the rice balls. I felt that the visually appealing miso balls are perfect as souvenirs.
