Located on 'Suzuran Street' at the east exit of JR Omiya Station, Kaneya is an izakaya that charms with its retro ambiance. It boasts seasonal fresh fish sourced daily from the market and carefully selected local sake by the owner. The reason it is loved by many office workers lies not only in its delicious offerings but also in its cozy atmosphere and warm hospitality.

It's easily accessible from the station and convenient for a quick stop. The lunch set meals are substantial in portion, and the seasoning is gentle and easy to eat. I had a combination of omelet and fried horse mackerel, which was well-balanced and enjoyable. The interior is lively, and you can fully enjoy the atmosphere typical of an izakaya. The tuna sashimi is beautifully colored, and when you put it in your mouth, the umami spreads. The side dishes of simmered beans and hijiki seaweed, as well as the ankimo with ponzu sauce and curry croquettes, each have good texture and flavor, making me very satisfied.
