Kitakaro Sunagawa Main Store is a place filled with delicious sweets that are perfect for souvenirs. The particularly popular "Kaitaku Okaki" is irresistibly tasty and comes in many varieties. Additionally, the exclusive Shifuku Cream Puff available only at the Sunagawa Main Store features a crispy choux pastry and exquisite cream, making it a must-try. With heartwarming products, this shop is definitely worth a visit.
This shop is located in the central market of Sunagawa, and the interior is clean and comfortable to spend time in. The seating is limited, centered around a counter. In addition to seafood bowls and tekka don, there is also a fun 'kakudon' where you can choose your favorite toppings. The bowls are filled with fresh ingredients such as tuna, salmon, scallops, octopus, sweet shrimp, fish roe, and egg, showcasing their freshness. The miso soup has a strong flavor of fish, and the small side dishes were also delicious. The rice portion is generous, and there is a half-size option available for those with smaller appetites, which is reassuring.
The local specialty of Hokkaido, 'Gyutoro Don', can be enjoyed here, and it makes me feel very happy. The fluffy gyutoro on warm rice melts in your mouth, spreading its delicious flavor. Adding a little wasabi and soy sauce enhances the aroma and makes the taste enjoyable. There is also a 'Tempura Gyutoro Don' that pairs well, providing a satisfying sweetness from the sauce. The staff's service is attentive, allowing for a calm dining experience. The atmosphere is more casual than I imagined, and I'm glad to be able to enjoy such a dish in Sunagawa.
