Wine Specs: Vintage: 2017, Varietal: Zinfandel, Appellation: Sonoma County, Alcohol %: 14.9. This vineyard is located on a rocky mountain ridge 1000 feet above Lake Sonoma in the far reaches of Sonoma's Dry Creek Valley. The fruit was hand-harvested from steep slopes. This 20-year old vineyard was grafted to the ancient St. Peter's Clone of Zinfandel. This mountain-grown Zinfandel displays briary ripe blackberry, boysenberry, cassis, hints of chocolate, and magnificent minerality in the flavors.

This small two acre vineyard is planted to an ancient clone of Zinfandel dating back the 1880s which originated behind St. Peter's Catholic Church in Cloverdale located in northern Sonoma County. It was hand-harvested in mid-September 2016 and produced using small vats and manual punch down technology. This rich, spicy Zinfandel shows elegant dark cherries, black raspberry, creamy cola, and nuances of black pepper and ripe olive.

Nestled at the base of rugged mountains, this vineyard is just north of Cloverdale, in the very northern tip of Sonoma's Alexander Valley. Perfectly ripe grapes were hand-harvested and the wine was produced using small lot punch down technology; which allows us to use different yeasts and a different percent of whole clusters for added complexity. The 2014 vintage threw some curve balls our way but our Paso Vineyards faired pretty well, producing wines with huge flavor, low alcohol and more pronounced fruit.

The fresh grapes were gently handled in the winery by either directly pressing the fruit to achieve delicate fruit flavor or allowing the juice of whole grapes to mingle with the skins for 36 hours and drawing off – "saignée" – the lightly colored juice. Fermentation was kept cold to further preserve the exquisite characteristics of the wine. The wine has a beautiful soft pink color with enticing flavors of strawberry, cranberry, and raspberry. The finish is long and crisp with ample acidity to refresh the palate.
