Pizzeria Utilizing Shinshu Ingredients in a Traditional Kominka

Located within walking distance from Ueda Station, this pizzeria offers a hidden gem experience in a renovated traditional house. The pizzas feature a light yet chewy crust, paired with seasonal vegetables from Shinshu, reminiscent of the renowned establishments in Karuizawa. The diverse half-and-half options are also popular. Guests can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere by removing their shoes in the tatami-matted seating area, savoring a colorful array of desserts in a tranquil setting.

In a quiet house located at the corner of a residential area, a cute pizza oven greets you as you open the front door. Once seated, you can hear the sound of dough being stretched, and the fragrant aroma of freshly baked pizza wafts through the air. The half-and-half combination of Shimoniita green onions and shungiku has a hint of yuzu, highlighting the freshness of the vegetables. The lotus root and myoga in a Genoese style, along with a slice of seasonal fruit, pair perfectly with the light crust. The tarte Tatin we had for dessert was subtly sweet, making it a pleasant finish without weighing down the palate. I believe this is a cozy pizza place where attention to detail can be felt throughout.
