Relaxing moments in a Showa-era izakaya

Wakafe Itsumonotokoro is a cozy izakaya specializing in chicken dishes. The special chawanmushi and yakitori are characterized by their comforting and gentle flavors. The yakitori, in particular, can be enjoyed with a wonderfully aromatic umeshu, making it a place you’ll want to return to after your first visit. You can spend a pleasant time in the Showa-era atmosphere of the restaurant, accompanied by warm hospitality.

As you enter the alley that exudes the atmosphere of the Showa era, a calm counter welcomes you. The appetizer changes daily, featuring three simple side dishes that made me excited from the start. The signature grilled chicken is fragrant, and each part is carefully cooked, making it perfect to enjoy with drinks. The unique chicken sashimi is served on a plate with yolk dressing and shiso leaves, allowing me to enjoy various flavors at once. The chawanmushi (steamed egg custard) served in a bowl size has a gentle yuzu aroma, and with each scoop using a spoon, the delicate dashi spreads. Thanks to the warm hospitality, I was able to relax even when alone, and by the time I left, my heart felt warm as well.
