A Local Taste Spot Where You Can Enjoy Fragrant Grilled Kiritanpo and Hands-On Experiences

Located within the roadside station 'Antoraa' in Akita's Kazuno area, 'Kiritanpo-kan' is a specialty shop that grills traditional kiritanpo right before your eyes. The kiritanpo, made from carefully kneaded glutinous rice, is layered with a sweet walnut miso, allowing you to savor its fragrant aroma and moist, chewy texture. Guests appreciate the skillful grilling by artisans and the opportunity to create their own unique piece during the hands-on experience, making it a memorable part of their journey.

The kiritanpo enjoyed in the land of its origin was very impressive. It is grilled on the spot, which enhances the aroma and whets the appetite. The balance between the crispy surface and the chewy interior is excellent, and it is simply delicious. The kiritanpo spread with walnut miso has a sweet and salty flavor that can be enjoyed like a snack. There are table seats, and it feels more spacious than expected. There is also a handmade experience corner and hot pot, which makes it enjoyable in various ways.
