A Specialty Shop Where You Can Taste Incredibly Tender Thick-Cut Tonteki

This hidden gem, located in a soba shop near Takasaki Economics University, operates mainly on Mondays and specializes in tonteki. The thick-cut pork loin is unbelievably tender, and the rich Western-style sauce harmonizes perfectly with the generous serving of cabbage, making it a hit that keeps guests coming back for more rice. The casual service style allows customers to choose their rice portion freely and enjoy self-service barley tea. With both counter and tatami seating available, diners can enjoy their meals in a spacious and relaxed atmosphere.

The thick tonteki is so tender that it melts in your mouth, and with every bite, the flavor spreads. The sweetness of the meat, the savory sauce, and the hint of garlic make the white rice go down easily. When paired with the side of cabbage and mustard, you can enjoy a change in flavor. The service is prompt, so I didn't mind the wait time. You can choose the amount of rice, allowing you to enjoy it at your preferred volume. There are counter seats and tatami rooms, and with self-service barley tea and small side dishes, you can relax comfortably.
