About a 2-minute walk from the south exit of Abiko Station, this famous restaurant serves fresh eel cured on the spot. You can enjoy both "Kanto style" where the eel is steamed and then grilled over bincho charcoal, and "Kansai style" where the eel is grilled over charcoal without steaming to a crispy and savory flavor.
I visited there for lunch.
It is a small restaurant tucked away in a residential area of Abiko. There was no signboard. I opened the door with a sense of uneasiness.
A young couple was running the restaurant.
I had the fish set and my friend had the chicken set, both of which were very tasty and satisfying. We even added dessert at the end. The chocolate mousse was very good. Cosmetically, it was okay. Including support for a small restaurant.
We didn't have a single other customer come in, so we had the whole place to ourselves the whole time, which was a real waste of time. It may be a restaurant for those in the know, but I think it is oh so well known by more people.
I thought it was a waste because there was not a single other customer.
