A visit to "Juubei Sushi", a sushi restaurant reputed to be the No. 1 sushi restaurant not only in Sasebo but also in Nagasaki Prefecture.
The fish is not purchased at the market, but from fishermen who are acquainted with the restaurant.
He says that he does not buy fish at the market but from several stores where he knows fishermen who wholesale fish every day.
The sushi is beautiful and reminiscent of kaiseki cuisine, which he says he trained in Kansai, not Edo-mae.
He also prepared many dishes that go well with sake.
I was surprised at the sticky, rich sweetness and deliciousness of the sea urchin.
It was one of the three best tastes of unotan I have ever had.
The bill was 17,000 yen after eating and drinking as much as we wanted.
This is double the price for this class of food in Tokyo.
I enjoyed the wonderful sushi.
We went there for lunch on a weekday. Even though it was a weekday, the place was quite crowded. I had the squid geso set meal, which was very hearty and tasty. I heard that Kaisen-don (fresh seafood on top of rice in a bowl) is also popular. I would like to try the kaisen-don next time I go there. I hope you will visit there, too.
We finally made it to the store!

Finally, I got my wish and came to this store!
I have been a fan of this curry since I first encountered it at the Co-op!
I thought I would never be able to make it to Sasebo, but here I am!
Bee's House has been in Sasebo for 60 years!
They have been serving curry and cakes for a long time!
This year, they moved to a new location and renovated their shop!
When I came here, I wanted to eat curry, but I was too full↓.
I decided to try another specialty, jumbo cream puffs!
600 yen with a drink!
Jumbo" is about twice the size of a cream puff!
Soft puff pastry and hard custard cream
Fruit inside, and you can enjoy the change of taste with the scotch sauce!
Now, when I eat it, I don't feel any special taste.
but it must have been a very high-caliber food 60 years ago!
And there are enough Gunkan Shoe for 10 of these!
They were made by customer request!
It has taken root in the community for 60 years and is well-loved!
I regret that I couldn't eat curry here...
I'll have to order it from the Co-op.
I love curry and hashed meat.
Also, someday...when I come to Sasebo, I'll be sure to visit then!

I went to Hanshin Department Store for Nagasaki products exhibition.
I really love the curry here!
I always buy the retort pouch at the Co-op, and it's so good that I can't believe it's a retort pouch! I always buy the retort pouch at the Co-op, and it's so good!
My partner and I are always talking about going to the restaurant in Nagasaki someday (lol).
I bought some beef stew from the Navy as a souvenir!
I also bought some curry bread!
I got it freshly fried, and it was fluffy and flabby!
But when I brought it home, it was soggy...
I cut it in half and it was flattened, but it was very tasty!
The curry in the curry bread is a little sweeter and different from the roux of our curry rice.
It was sweet but spicy and delicious!
I want to go to Nagasaki to eat it.
