The brewing water of the famous sake Hakkaisan is sourced from the clear water of Raiden, which is snowmelt. It is said that the name comes from the legend that people who suffered from disasters caused by thunder worshipped Raiden here, and as a result, they no longer experienced damage from lightning.
Since this is a sake meant for casual evening drinking, it cannot be taken lightly. It has a smooth flavor that makes you want to drink more as you finish it.
