In the 5th year of the Taisho era, the shochu first released by the founder of Kirishima Distillery, Yoshisuke Enatsu, was made with 'black koji' fermentation. The history of Kirishima Distillery began with black koji shochu. 'Kurokirishima' recreates the flavor of the original black koji shochu using the latest equipment and our unique brewing methods. The richness produced by black koji is characterized by a smooth sweetness and a crisp finish. This deliciousness is crafted from over 90 years of tradition and exceptional techniques at Kirishima Distillery.
The main ingredient, sweet potato, is 100% Kagoshima-grown Kogane Sengan. This is a genuine sweet potato shochu characterized by a pleasant subtle aroma and a light taste.
A fragrant Satsuma shochu made with fresh Kogane Sengan from local Kanoya, using white koji and distilled at normal pressure.
