Using some malted barley grown in the Hitachino area, we blended only malt whiskey distilled at the 100% Kiuchi Brewery's Yachiyo Distillery, aged in bourbon barrels, rum barrels, and sherry barrels. Kinuichi Umeshu, distilled from Hitachino Nest Beer, which won first place in the 2009 Tenmatenjin Umeshu Competition, features the flavor of spirits and a rich plum taste. A refreshing umeshu brewed with domestic green plums and spirits distilled from Hitachino Nest Beer, aged for one year in sherry casks. Additionally, it is blended with malt whiskey aged in smoky Islay casks.
