Old Forester Bourbon, Grand Marnier, Velvet Falernum, Liquid Alchemist Grenadine, Lemon Juice, Egg White. The whiskey sour has remained popular since its introduction in Jerry Thomas' very first Bon Vivant's Companion in 1862 to present day. Sours do not categorically include egg white, but there is a strong historical tradition of using them for richer texture and smoothness
Roku Japanese Gin, Lemon, Yuzu Soda, Thai Basil, Iced Tea Ice Cubes. The Tom Collins first appears in Jerry Thomas' 1876 edition of A Bon Vivant's Companion. One version of its origin is that it was named for a famous practical joke, the Tom Collins Hoax of 1874. Another is that a London headwaiter, John Collins, substituted Old Tom gin in a pinch
Buffalo Trace Bourbon, BLiS Maple Syrup, Cherry Bark Bitters, Applewood Smoked. The original recipe for an Old Fashioned is spirit, sugar, water, and bitters as written in 1806s The Balance and Columbian Repository. By the 1880s, there was a boom in craft cocktail experimentation with curaçao, absinthe, or other liqueurs. Some balked at this demanding 'the old-fashioned way' of making cocktails
Bulliet Rye Whiskey, Carpano Antica, Amaro Montenegro, Bottled. Manhattans served before the turn of the 20th century bore little resemblance to the version we know today. The Manhattan No. 2 in Harry Johnson's 1900 Bartender's Manual is closer, calling for equal parts whiskey and sweet vermouth, and a few dashes each of bitters and curaçao
Casamigos Blanco Tequila, Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, Lime, Coriander, Cilantro-Jalapeño Air. Origin stories of the margarita vary widely. Some say it was derived from the Sidecar (London, 1920), while other evidence points to a mix of tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur and soda water called The Daisy served in Texas or Mexico around the turn of the 20th century
Bacardi Rum, Strawberry, Lime, Aquafaba, Strawberry Dust. Rum, limes and sugar have been combined in various proportions and methods as far back as the 1700s. The Daiquiri is said to have been invented by an American engineer named Jennings Cox in 1896, who was working in Cuba near the small town of Daiquiri when his gin supply ran dry and he was forced to improvise
Absolut Elyx Vodka, Chartreuse, Lemon, Cardamom, Raspberry 'Boba'. The Lemon Drop is said to have been a child of the '70s from Henry Africa in San Francisco, and likely started the modern mixology movement. Cheryl Cook, the architect of the Cosmopolitan, described it as an Absolut Citron variation of a Lemon Drop, lending more weight to the theory
Herradura Silver Tequila, Sparkling Grapefruit, Harissa Ginger Syrup. The Paloma is a popular Mexican cocktail that dates back to the mid-20th century. It is traditionally made with tequila, grapefruit, lime juice, and a pinch of salt. Meaning "Dove" in Spanish, it is said to symbolize peace and a sense of calmness
