In Japan, Houttuynia Cordata is often used in cosmetics and tea, but in China's Sichuan and Guizhou provinces, it is used as a healthy food. Houttuynia Cordata has diuretic effects, improves constipation, and reduces inflammation, as well as strengthening blood vessels and benefiting skin health. It is a favorite among Chinese people.
This dish is made by stir-frying salted and fermented sour green beans with minced meat. The spicy and sour flavor of the green beans pairs perfectly with beer or rice, making it irresistible.
Mei Cai is a type of pickled mustard greens, similar to Japanese Takana pickles. It is made from mustard greens that have been salted and then sun-dried.
