The name comes from the image of Botticelli's famous painting 'The Birth of Venus.' It was named 'Mujime Venus Oyster' because when you open the oyster shell, an oyster resembling Venus comes out. The flesh is firm, and the flavor is characterized by a refreshing umami without any strong aftertaste.
The Goto Islands, surrounded by the sea on all sides, are located in a marine area rich in phytoplankton. Thanks to the nutrient-rich waters, the growth rate is fast, allowing for the shipment of young rock oysters. As a result, you can enjoy fresh rock oysters.
The 'Gaki Taisho' from Murotsu, Hyogo Prefecture, benefits from the rich nutrients in the water flowing from the Chikusa River and Ibo River into the Seto Inland Sea, growing plump and large. Surrounded by mountains, Murotsu Bay provides a nutrient-rich and calm environment, making it ideal for oysters.
