The gardens are beautiful and the food is a perfect blend of French and Japanese cuisine. The meats are especially tender and the wine selection is excellent. This gorgeous hotel restaurant is a must when visiting Arashiyama.

Haha

I was looking forward to visiting Suiran's cafe at the Luxury Collection Hotel.
Japanese afternoon tea is very rare, so I made reservations well in advance.
The menu is too long to list here, so I will spare you the photos.
You can choose from tea, sencha, or coffee.
I chose Earl Grey as my first tea.
I love that I can choose both hot and iced tea...
You can refill your tea freely☆.
The second cup of tea was herbal tea.
It was almost perfectly good, but the waitress could not read the Chinese characters on the menu and the picture taking was a bit clunky.
Free Wi-Fi is a nice feature☆.

The food and atmosphere were wonderful in a relaxed space on the basement floor. We especially liked the use of Hirai beef for the main course and the attention to local ingredients. The wine list was extensive and very satisfying. It was not crowded and would be a great place for a special occasion dinner. I would also like to visit other classic Grandmaisons.
This was my first visit to the restaurant after reading about it on Instagram! The restaurant is small and spacious, and I was able to spend a relaxing time there ^ ^.
The pizza and pasta were delicious.
We will definitely go back again. ‼︎
