Matsubatei, established in the first year of the Taisho era, has been renovated into a classical space where guests can enjoy a diverse range of dishes from breakfast to dinner. The menu features a wide selection, including sea bream carpaccio, homemade fresh pasta, pizza, and Massaman curry, along with the popular fragrant focaccia and rich Basque cheesecake. In a stylish café located in a back alley of Higashiyama, a relaxed atmosphere flows, making it very comfortable. The staff carefully explains each dish, allowing you to choose with excitement. The chewy fresh pasta and fragrant focaccia spread the flavor of wheat with every bite, bringing happiness. The Thai carpaccio and fried swordfish are also fresh, and the simple seasoning enhances the ingredients. The Basque cheesecake and Assam tea catalana for dessert are rich yet have a light aftertaste, making them irresistible for those who love sweets. I think it's a perfect place to relax while sipping tea served in a pot, ideal for unwinding between sightseeing.
