In 1525 artist bernardino luini found inspiration in an innkeeper who became his model and lover. Out of gratitude & affection, the woman wished to give him a gift. She steeped apricot kernels in brandy and presented the resulting concoction to a touched luini. We know it today as amaretto. Blended with lemons, strawberries, egg whites, bitters and sugar to create a beautiful amaretto sour with an intense flavour
