The skill and attention to detail of the owner, Hiroyuki Kawashima, makes this restaurant a rare place to enjoy authentic nigirizushi in Nara Prefecture.
I used it for the first time. As expected, it was a lovely atmosphere where I could relax comfortably, and the food was very delicious. There were many people lined up who had not made a reservation, so I would like to make a reservation next time and use the cafe as well.

A heartwarming space that masters Japanese cuisine
Warakushin Kashihara Jingu is a healing place that pursues the deliciousness of traditional Japanese cuisine. Upon entering, you are greeted by a large tank, and fresh squid dishes are highly recommended. The dishes made with carefully selected seasonal ingredients are all exquisite plates that are worth a visit.
This was my first visit, but the French food was so good that my fears were dispelled. The lunch set menu was reasonably priced, and I ordered the steak set. The overall flavor is consistent from the appetizer, soup, steak meat and sauce, and dessert. The homemade bread was delicious and the homemade desserts were wonderful. We were very pleased with the atmosphere and the service was relaxed and comfortable. I would like to revisit.
Okonomiyaki / Monjayaki / 2.8 km from Asuka station /
A place to enjoy fluffy and exquisite okonomiyaki
Okonomiyaki wa Koko Yanen Kashihara Jingu Mae is a popular spot for enjoying okonomiyaki and monja. The batter made with yam is light and fluffy, and the okonomiyaki is particularly exquisite. The distinctive sweet and spicy sauce on the yakisoba and the salt-flavored Kyoto-style monja are also well-received. Loved by locals, this comfortable space offers a diverse menu where you can savor their specialty flour-based dishes.
Kashihara Mikazuki was, of course, my first experience of Harami Yukke. It was meh-much better than I expected. I had the lowest priced salted tongue and the halami, which were also half as good as I expected. What about the higher ranked menu items? What about their top-ranked menu? And when grilled over charcoal on the shichirin (charcoal charcoal grills), it tastes even better with the sense of event. It is far from my home, but I wanted to go back on my way home. I can still feel the lingering taste. This is what deliciousness means, isn't it? Thank you for the delicious meat.
I started with a platter of five types of sashimi and began to feel the deliciousness of this restaurant! The rare cuts in the one-bite series were served hot, and it was a refreshing experience with dishes that truly showcased the flavor of chicken, which you can't find elsewhere! Overall, everything I ate received high praise! I tried a new cut called 'tori techan,' which is different from beef techan but had a similar taste! I highly recommend it! There were some cuts that were sold out and I couldn't try, but next time I definitely want to enjoy the rare cuts and mizutaki! Along with some sake.
Perhaps due to the snowy weather resembling a blizzard, there were few customers, allowing for a relaxed experience. I was looking forward to the limited edition strawberry parfait, available only 10 times a day. The staff member brought the parfait while wearing a strawberry hat, which added a special touch. The volume was amazing, with a whole pack of strawberries included! Inside, there was kuzu pudding and soft serve ice cream, creating a delicious texture similar to panna cotta.
I arrived a little earlier than my reservation time, but I was warmly guided, and from the start, it became a very pleasant time. This time, I reserved the Asuka hot pot course that I had been curious about for a while. It was my first experience with Asuka hot pot. The first dish that came out was a simmered dish. It was beautifully plated, and the care in presentation was evident from the appearance. Next was homemade sesame tofu. It was slightly warm, and when I put it in my mouth, it was rich and smooth. It had a texture similar to mochi, and my anticipation for the hot pot increased dramatically. And then, finally, the Asuka hot pot. The moment the pure white milk-based broth was placed in front of me, I couldn't help but feel excited, wondering what it would taste like. The ingredients were carefully added to the pot by the staff, and once it started to boil, the remaining ingredients were added, and after a few minutes of waiting, I finally got to taste it. Strangely, the flavor transformed from the initial whiteness of the milk to a gentle broth. Instead of the milk flavor dominating, it seemed to delicately enhance the umami of the ingredients. I was particularly surprised by the tenderness of the chicken. It was truly tender, paired well with the broth, and was very delicious. The hot pot soup remained tasty until the end, and I saved a little for the udon at the end. The udon had a nice chewiness and paired perfectly with the hot pot soup. I enjoyed it thoroughly until the very end. The dessert was filled with fruits. I felt completely satisfied after the meal, and it was a very fulfilling course. It was my first time having Asuka hot pot, but it was gentle, profound, and a taste that makes me want to eat it again. The service from the staff was warm, and I was able to spend a very good time. I definitely want to visit again. Thank you for the meal.
I had a plate lunch, and it was very delicious. The atmosphere was also nice, and since customers kept coming in, I felt like I had to leave quickly after finishing my meal.
