In a warm space renovated from a traditional house, I felt my heart ease as soon as I took my seat. The colorful small plates lined up at the beginning were like a small exhibition, allowing me to enjoy the blessings of the season both visually and with my taste buds. The crispy potato coating wrapping the plump shrimp was delightful, and each bite released a savory aroma. The tempura of flat clams and mountain vegetables was also lightly fried and fragrant, making it hard to stop using my chopsticks. The star of the meal, the sea bream chazuke, paired perfectly with the rich sesame sauce and freshly cooked rice from a clay pot, making it delicious both on its own and when poured with tea. I was able to indulge in a chewy and sweet dessert, leaving both my stomach and my heart completely satisfied.
