Owner Mr. Shitada was born into a family that ran a liquor store in Kamata before the war and opened this shop in 1960. For the past 60 years he has watched the town change while preserving a traditional café famous for its thick hotcakes and large pudding à la mode. Now 82 years old, he still works on the floor, taking orders and brewing coffee, serving as the shop’s “face.”
