Hikohji is a hole-in-the-wall bar with a nice atmosphere and cheap food. The interior is austere, with counter and table seating extending all the way to the back. The menu is served on strips of paper and boards, the drinks are a standard selection, and the entrées are simple but perfect for sake lovers. We toasted with a large bottle of Super Dry, which was surprisingly inexpensive. The fresh and tasty dishes include anglerfish liver ponzu, hamachi grilled with salt and kouji, natto isobe-age (fried fermented soybeans), and more, which can be enjoyed to the fullest. This is a favorite restaurant of my friend in Osaka.
