A longstanding izakaya with a Showa retro atmosphere

Located near Osu Subway Station, Furyu Izakaya Yuki is a 54-year-old traditional izakaya. The interior features a Showa retro space with only a counter, and the friendly master warmly welcomes guests. The signature dish, dotenabe, offers a sweet and hearty Nagoya flavor. Enjoy delicious food in a charming izakaya with an old-fashioned atmosphere.

Stepping into the quaint interior that evokes the Showa era, the slanted counter and aged decor are truly rich in character. The owner, who runs the shop alone, is incredibly friendly, and the lively conversation makes you smile without realizing it. The signature dish, doteyaki, is infused with a rich miso flavor, and its melt-in-your-mouth texture is irresistible. When you take a big bite of the crispy kushi-katsu coated generously with sweet miso, it pairs perfectly with the beer, making it all the more enjoyable. The retro water-cooled refrigerator and the friendly atmosphere among regulars add to the feeling that you've time-traveled back to an old tavern. I felt that it was a wonderful place where you can fully enjoy the essence of the Showa era while relaxing comfortably.
