Matsubara-an is the most famous restaurant in Yuigahama, and is frequented by celebrities from Kamakura, Zushi, and Hayama, as well as customers from far and wide on weekends. The spacious premises, which is an old private house, is a one-of-a-kind space with terrace seating and a café. The Kaisen Arare-age (fried seafood) is a must-try. Shrimp, squid, and Kamakura vegetables are carefully deep-fried one by one, and the light rapeseed oil goes perfectly with the generous portion, making the taste of sake irresistible. The squid with liver (￥920) was so delicious that we had to have another helping. The liver is served with cartilage and a decorative knife. I wondered how much it would cost in Tokyo. For soba noodles, we ordered nori soba (buckwheat noodles with seaweed). The aosa was served on top of the soba, so it was a very aromatic and square dish that did not need any broth. The soup was soft, and it seemed to be matched to the aosa. The service was courteous and comfortable, and we drank too much after lunch with the delicious dishes. We had two glasses of bubbles and two beers each and the bill was a little over ³,000. I was surprised at the reasonable price. I can clearly see why it is a popular restaurant.

Seiro soba + large portion The soba noodles are firm and smooth, and the sauce is delicious with a hint of Kaeshi! This is the last time to eat out in 2017, New Year's Eve Soba.
