This is a shot from a trip back to Charge 💪 earlier this summer. There are many popular eel restaurants in Shizuoka, but this is our family's iron plate. The "Jyu" (heavy broiled eel with liver) is a great way to recharge your energy! Grilled in Kansai style using Kanto style. This is Shizuoka eel. I never get tired of eating it no matter how many times I eat it. You must eat eel in Shizuoka.

I went to Kankichi because I was in Shizuoka Prefecture for sightseeing and wanted to try hitsu-mabushi for the first time. I had the special hitsu-mabushi. The skin was crispy and the meat was fluffy and delicious! The staff was very nice and the atmosphere was relaxed, and I would like to go back to this restaurant.

A huge bowl of eel with grilled liver! When I go back to Shizuoka, I want to eat eel here. And I definitely want it with grilled liver. In Shizuoka, the eel is processed in the Kanto region and grilled in the Kansai region. So it's fluffy and crispy✨I can't find this way of grilling in Tokyo. I'm going to eat it now because I won't be able to eat it in the summer!

This restaurant uses eels from Shizuoka Prefecture grown in the water of the Southern Alps, and offers the finest eel dishes with no odor. There are various types of eel dishes such as donburi, jujyu, hizumabushi, shiroyaki set, etc., and the special selection is eel-jyu. The rice is spread so thick that you cannot see it. The eel is grilled in the Kansai style, so the crispy skin is delicious. The meat is fluffy, yet elastic and very satisfying. The price is not cheap, but the taste of the eel is worth the price.
