A heartwarming, homey diner

Ajiro Shokudo is a cozy diner adjacent to the Ajiro Isobune Hotel, known for its inviting atmosphere. Each visit brings a warm welcome, and the thoughtful service, especially the cheerful offering of rice refills, is truly comforting. You can enjoy a variety of seafood dishes, including the local specialty, Ajiro squid menchi. It's a charming hidden gem that you definitely want to stop by when visiting Izu.

The round sign by the seaside is a landmark, and the store has large windows and a bright interior. It is spacious, tidy, and has a sense of cleanliness. The menu features a variety of dishes typical of Izu as well as classics, making it fun to choose. The fried barracuda was very delicious. The squid meatball (referred to here as 'ajiro age') has a smooth mince and a refined finish, with a flavor reminiscent of satsuma-age. The seafood bowl was satisfying, with plenty of sashimi on top.
