Tea time on a cruise! On this day, we came to Otsu Port in Shiga Prefecture to board the Michigan! It takes about an hour to get there from Osaka city, which is surprisingly close~! Michigan Cruise, an outer-engine boat that cruises around the south lake of Lake Biwa I had heard of the name, but it was my first time! My partner wanted to go on a cruise! But rain was forecasted a week in advance! My partner is always the rain man! But I, a woman of fine disposition, managed to hold off the rain until it became cloudy! I wish it had been sunny! When the scenery is cloudy, it's hard to enjoy it. While cruising, there is a bar where you can have a drink and a restaurant where you can eat a course. You can enjoy the cruise in elegance! We also took advantage of the café where you can have a light meal! The inside of the restaurant is soft and comfortable with sofa seats! It would be great if we could relax and hang out in a calm atmosphere. On this day, we encountered a group of students on a social tour. It was a very lively place. The menu includes pancakes, curry, cakes and drinks. We ordered 6 Michigan badle pancakes for 1,100 yen, iced tea and coffee! After ordering and paying at the counter, the pancakes are served as soon as they are ready. We sat down comfortably and waited for the pancakes to be ready! Six thin pancakes piled on top of each other to resemble the outer ring of a Michigan paddle! The pancakes were thin, but very chewy, and the strawberries were refreshing! The pancakes are made with rice flour from Omi rice "Mizukagami," and it took many trials and errors to perfect the pancakes so that the batter would not be too hard. It's true that when the pancakes cool down a little, they usually become tough! That didn't happen. It's too bad that the accompanying jam, cream and sauce are a little too commercial. *You can choose the number of pancakes from 3 for 800 yen, 6 for 1100 yen, or 12 for 1700 yen. The 80-minute tour is over in a flash! I think I was in the cafe about half the time (sweat). I want to come back when the weather is nice! Blue sky, green mountains, beautiful lake, I want to see it! Shiga Prefecture, I'll be back next month!
