As I climbed up the step and passed through the noren (fabric curtain), the inside of the restaurant was bustling and fully occupied. The menu featured items like udon, kishimen, and Chinese soba, making it a tough decision on what to choose. This time, I opted for the Chinese soba, and the combination of the curly, wavy noodles and the flavorful chashu (braised pork) was excellent. The colorful kamaboko (fish cake) and tofu added a Japanese-style accent, beautifully contrasting with the gentle soup. There was also a set meal style that included a small side dish, which was delightful as it could be enjoyed with rice. Magazines and newspapers were available, creating a comfortable atmosphere to leisurely slurp the noodles.
