The sound and aroma of tempura frying right in front of me make my stomach growl. The batter, lightly infused with sesame oil, is not too thick and has a crisp, light texture. Each piece, from shrimp and whiting to perilla leaves, vegetables, and seaweed, is carefully fried. The slightly sweet sauce seeps into the rice, creating a perfect match with the tempura. The whole anago tempura rice bowl is impressive, and the fluffy flesh was delicious. Seeing the lively chef, who has remained unchanged over the years, was heartwarming, making for a satisfying lunch.
