I had a drink at a small, traditional shop located in a back alley of Sendagi. Upon entering, I was greeted by a richly decorated interior and a cat-shaped chopstick rest, which made me feel warm and cozy. The first dish served was a simmered appetizer that was infused with dashi, and I couldn't help but keep eating. The shiro (white meat) and liver, carefully grilled over charcoal, were aromatic and had an irresistible, plump texture. Even the side dishes, like the original chijimi (Korean pancakes) and fluffy tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette), were delicious, and I found myself ordering more. While watching the quiet owner and the efficient staff interact, just gazing at the lined-up bottles gave me a boost of energy, making for a wonderful night.
