When it comes to summer traditions in Kyoto, “hamo” is a must. There’s a significant difference in flavor between live hamo and hamo that has been bled. Since live hamo is deboned while still fresh, the thin fillets curl up as they are grilled. On the other hand, when deboned hamo that has been blanched is grilled, the fillets remain straight and do not curl. We invite you to try it. *You will be seated in the main dining area (private rooms are not available.)
This special plan includes a “celebratory meal” perfect for Shichi-Go-San, a tradition celebrating milestones in a child’s growth, allowing the whole family to relax and enjoy the occasion together. The meal also features grilled young sea bream, and adults can savor a seasonal kaiseki course. While Shichi-Go-San is traditionally celebrated in the fall, it has become increasingly common to celebrate it outside of the traditional season. This plan is available year-round, so please enjoy a celebratory meal with your family after your visit to the shrine.
