Asahiya’s most popular menu item is the oyakodon set made with Tanba Akadori chicken. The tender, juicy chicken pairs perfectly with the rich eggs. Their cream bread, made with blue eggs, is also a highlight, featuring a fluffy texture and a mildly sweet flavor. You can enjoy dishes that make the most of fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Inside Asahiya, you’ll find a warm and inviting space renovated from a 120-year-old traditional house. It offers both wooden table seating and tatami-style seating, and dogs are welcome as well. The restaurant is equipped with a kids’ space, nursing area, and diaper-changing facilities, making it a comfortable place for families to relax and spend time together.

Asahiya is a specialty restaurant for oyakodon and cream bread that opened in June 2023 in Tamba-Sasayama City. Renovated from a 120-year-old traditional house, it offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere while serving menus made with locally sourced ingredients, providing a food culture rooted in the local community.

The restaurant is mainly operated by the married couple, Mr. Jin Kitamura and Ms. Kyoko. Mr. Jin moved from Osaka to Tamba-Sasayama in March 2020, and began preparing to open “Asahiya” after being asked to take over a food and beverage business. Ms. Kyoko, drawing on her experience in postpartum care services, is dedicated to providing childcare and creating a warm environment based on her philosophy of “offering a place where mothers can work with peace of mind.”
