Asahiya’s most popular menu item is the oyakodon set made with Tanba Akadori chicken. The tender, juicy chicken pairs perfectly with the rich eggs. Inside Asahiya, you’ll find a warm and inviting space renovated from a 120-year-old traditional house. It offers both wooden table seating and tatami-style seating, and dogs are welcome as well. The restaurant is equipped with a kids’ space, nursing area, and diaper-changing facilities, making it a comfortable place for families to relax and spend time together.

Asahiya is a specialty restaurant for oyakodon and cream bread that opened in June 2023 in Tamba-Sasayama City. Renovated from a 120-year-old traditional house, it offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere while serving menus made with locally sourced ingredients, providing a food culture rooted in the local community.

The restaurant is mainly operated by the married couple, Mr. Jin Kitamura and Ms. Kyoko. Mr. Jin moved from Osaka to Tamba-Sasayama in March 2020, and began preparing to open “Asahiya” after being asked to take over a food and beverage business. Ms. Kyoko, drawing on her experience in postpartum care services, is dedicated to providing childcare and creating a warm environment based on her philosophy of “offering a place where mothers can work with peace of mind.”
