Enjoy Tosa cuisine in a charming traditional house-style izakaya

Kusaya is a quaint izakaya located just off the main street in the center of Kochi City, utilizing a traditional house for its ambiance. The interior has a calm atmosphere, allowing you to feel as if you are in a hidden retreat with each visit. The dishes, especially those featuring the homestyle flavors of Tosa, are all heartwarming and delicious. This is a memorable spot you definitely want to visit when in Kochi.

When you take off your shoes and step inside, the warmth of the wood and the greenery of the courtyard spread out, making you feel at ease. The interior, remodeled from an old traditional house, features tatami rooms and a counter, creating a calm atmosphere that is very comfortable. For lunch, there is a main dish accompanied by several small bowls of Japanese cuisine, all of which highlight the natural flavors of the ingredients and are gently delicious. The first bowl, which can be chosen as either seasoned rice or multigrain rice, has a wonderful aroma that makes you want to ask for a second helping. The evening course includes bonito and Tosa red beef, as well as tempura of moray eel, allowing you to fully enjoy the local flavors of Kochi. The combination of carefully prepared dishes and a wide variety of sake is excellent, making it a perfect place to enjoy with friends.
