A traditional Japanese restaurant with handmade soba

Located in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City, Soba Hagita is a beloved local soba shop. Since its establishment in the 1960s, the second generation has continued the tradition of handmade soba while maintaining a calm, Japanese-style atmosphere. The interior features a display reminiscent of an irori (traditional Japanese hearth), allowing visitors to experience the charm of Japanese tradition. Notably, the handmade soba is known for its firm texture and rich flavor.

The charming atmosphere is wonderful, and the local feel is very comfortable. The interior has a counter, tables, and also tatami seating, allowing for a relaxed experience. The soba noodles have a slightly whitish color and a firm texture, making them pleasant to eat. The fragrant dipping sauce is refreshing and enhances the flavor of the noodles well. The tempura has a light batter, and the shrimp is plump, while the sauce for the small tempura rice bowl has a good balance of sweet and savory. I enjoyed the nutty aroma of sesame and even the soba broth after the meal, leaving me satisfied.
