Nakajima Daishodo Tanba Honten is an attractive store with baked sweets and cakes. I chose the Tamba pound cake and the Tamba black bean sable baked goods, all of which looked so delicious I couldn't decide which one to try. In particular, the kayabuki cake had a rich Tamba chestnut cream and the texture of the meringue was exquisite. The interior of the store is charming with its thatched-roof motif, and there is also a garden and sunroom. If you visit the Tamba region, this is a must-stop store.

First of all, the self-service flow is enjoyable, and just the time spent choosing tempura while holding a tray is exciting. The cold broth, infused with dried sardines, is refreshingly elegant, and I couldn't help but drink it all the way to the last drop. The hand-made noodles, characteristic of Sanuki, have a firm texture that releases the aroma of wheat with each bite, and the smoothness is outstanding. When you dip the crispy eggplant tempura and the chicken tempura, which has absorbed the seasoning, into the broth, the batter becomes infused with umami, creating an irresistible flavor. The sides, such as bean rice and okra tempura, are also available, and I love that I can freely combine them based on my mood for the day.
