A culinary workshop in a renovated old school building
Shoku no Kobo Kagari-bi is a charming establishment that features a warm, retro atmosphere created from a former middle school building. The restaurant is known for its dishes that utilize local specialties, with seafood menus being particularly popular. The sophisticated interior is also impressive, providing a pleasant experience for visitors. Combined with a hot spring, you can enjoy a luxurious time that refreshes both the mind and body.
The interior of the shop, resembling a house by the sea, has a warm wooden feel that is very calming. The large windows and outdoor seating offer a panoramic view of the sea, and I was moved to see Awashima Island. Reservations are required, and the number of guests is limited, but this allows for a relaxed atmosphere. The dishes feature many home-style items made with local ingredients, and the salad, simply seasoned with seaweed salt and olive oil, is excellent. The specialty grilled dish is made with carrots, shiitake mushrooms, walnuts, eggs, and tofu, and it has a rich flavor that is unforgettable. The hojicha tea and fluffy cooked Koshihikari rice pair perfectly, leaving me fulfilled both in heart and in view.
Shirahama Shokudo is a charming restaurant located along the coast with a view of the Sea of Japan. Inside, you can enjoy carefully prepared ramen and katsudon in a nostalgic atmosphere that brings comfort with every visit. The soy sauce ramen, in particular, features a beloved taste that locals have cherished, with perfectly cooked noodles that create an unforgettable bowl. Guests can indulge in simple yet delicious dishes accompanied by warm hospitality.
