Soup Curry Shop Koh Kanda Suruga/Jimbocho Black Chicken Char-grilled (1,100 yen) The theory often cited as the reason why Jimbocho became a curry town is that curry was perfect for eating while reading a freshly purchased book in one hand. But I think that is a stretch. Nowadays, with the popularity of e-books, it would be impossible to read a paper book while eating curry, and first of all, the risk of splattering the roux is very high. In a busy town with many publishers, I think curry was a dish that could be eaten quickly. Today, I enjoyed such Jimbocho curry for the first time in a long time. I like the flamboyant soup curry with colorful vegetables and turmeric rice that is common in Hokkaido and Shimokitazawa, but I also like this soup curry that is centered on the core of the dish. The pork bone broth base gives the soup depth and flavor. Sometimes there are restaurants that seem to bulk up with the volume of vegetables and have almost no soup, but here you don't need to worry about a single thing like that. Next time, I would like to try it with bread. By the way, the right and left neighbors are both curry restaurants. One is Ethiopia, a very long-established and famous restaurant, and the other is MAJI CURRY, which has won the Kanda Curry Grand Prix. If you go all the way along this road, it leads to that town (Jimbocho). It was a nice spice.

Beef Soup Curry with double the amount of rice Delicious. Very tasty. I had another serving of rice. The free refill and large serving of rice is a godsend. There was plenty of beef and vegetables! I was so satisfied!
