A renowned restaurant where you can savor traditional natural eel

Higashiya is a natural eel specialty shop with a history dating back to 1924. The owner personally catches the eels, and the skilled artisans grill them to perfection, releasing a delightful aroma from the charcoal and an incredible umami flavor that fills your mouth. The white grilled eel and kabayaki are particularly exquisite, allowing you to fully enjoy the authentic taste of eel. Experience a luxurious yet heartwarming moment at Higashiya.

You can enjoy natural eel, and the thick, sticky deliciousness of the meat leaves a lasting impression. The white grilled eel can be grilled by yourself on a small shichirin, with the skin being fragrant and crispy, the meat juicy and free of any unpleasant smell, making it delicious even on its own. There are condiments like mustard ponzu, salt, and wasabi available, allowing you to enjoy variations in flavor. The eel rice bowl allows for a comparison of flavors, with a slightly sweet sauce that pairs well with the firm meat. The eel course is carefully prepared, including dishes like uzaku, eel sashimi, ginger-stewed liver, eel rolled omelet, and liver soup, and the crispy eel bones are a delightful addition. The clam soup and pickles also have a strong umami flavor, ensuring satisfaction until the very end.
